The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 Reducer is an engineered, factory pre-insulated PE100 SDR11 fitting designed for diameter transitions in chilled water, secondary refrigeration, and industrial process piping networks. Fabricated with an inner media pipe of high-density polyethylene PE100 rated for PN16 working pressure, the reducer is encased in high-efficiency, halogen-free, closed-cell GF HE foam insulation with a thermal conductivity of λ ≤ 0.022 W/mK and shielded by an impact-resistant, moisture- and vapor-tight black protective outer jacket. Available in Type A executions featuring an electrofusion socket with an integrated sealing lip, the fitting facilitates automated electrofusion welding while ensuring a permanent, moisture-proof, and vapor-tight barrier directly against the outer jacket of the pipe without requiring adhesive tapes, silicons, or heat-shrink sleeves. For specific dimensional reductions, Type B spigot variants provide free PE100 ends ready for jointing via separate COOL-FIT 2.0 electrofusion couplers, maintaining full system insulation integrity. By completely preventing condensation formation and surface moisture ingress that typically compromise post-insulated metal systems, the pre-insulated reducer ensures a 100% corrosion-free flow path, reduces thermal energy losses by an average of 30%, and provides maintenance-free operation across a 25-year service life. Operating reliably within fluid media temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, this transition fitting optimizes thermal efficiency across building air conditioning systems, data center cooling infrastructures, food processing facilities, and industrial HVAC loops.
