The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 adaptor union PE/stainless steel provides a robust, demountable transition between pre-insulated PE100 piping networks and threaded metallic equipment or components. Designed specifically for chilled water distribution, building HVAC installations, and demanding industrial process cooling, this hybrid transition assembly connects seamlessly to secondary cooling loops. The component comprises an SDR11 PE100 union bush with a smooth metric spigot end suited for electrofusion jointing, paired with a heavy-duty stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L) threaded end featuring a male thread R manufactured to ISO 7-1 specifications. The mechanical assembly is fastened by an engineered PEGF25 glass-fibre reinforced polyethylene union nut, compressing an EPDM O-ring seal to establish a leak-tight, long-term barrier against glycol-water mixtures. To sustain system efficiency and eliminate thermal bridging, the adaptor union includes a purpose-engineered vapor-tight insulation shell crafted from flexible, closed-cell NBR foam that prevents humidity ingress and surface condensation. Rated for nominal operating pressures up to 16 bar (PN16) and media temperatures from 0 degrees to +60 degrees Celsius, the fitting delivers 100% corrosion resistance at the plastic-to-metal interface. The separable union geometry simplifies maintenance, commissioning, and system modification by enabling quick disconnection from downstream chillers, manifolds, or pumps without intrusive cutting.
