The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0/4.0 transition cap PE/brass provides an engineered line termination and threaded tapping interface for pre-insulated plastic piping systems in industrial refrigeration and chilled-water installations. Specifically designed for secondary cooling loops, air conditioning networks, and data center cooling infrastructure, the fitting securely seals off an SDR11 pipeline run while providing a female Rp 1/2" threaded branch. This threaded port allows the direct attachment of essential measuring instruments, temperature or pressure sensors, manual air vent valves, draincocks, and fluid sampling points. The assembly integrates a spigot body manufactured from premium PE100 material with a high-strength CuZn40Pb2 brass threaded bushing, delivering excellent mechanical stability and dimensional precision. Long-term joint reliability and tight containment between the polymeric spigot and the metallic insert are maintained by an internal EPDM O-ring gasket, formulated to resist thermal movement and system pressure fluctuations. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of 16 bar, the transition cap handles chilled water as well as water-glycol mixtures within a medium temperature spectrum of 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius. The non-corrosive PE100 core eliminates incrustation, pitting, and scaling, ensuring smooth internal hydraulics and unimpeded flow up to the termination point. Its spigot end is fully compatible with COOL-FIT electrofusion couplers, reducing installation time on-site while maintaining vapor-tight thermal insulation integrity across the system. Built to guarantee a minimum lifespan of 25 years without recurring maintenance, this transition cap delivers durable sealing and instrumentation integration for critical cooling infrastructure.
