The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 / 4.0 barrel nipple is an uninsulated PE100 metric jointing component engineered to facilitate the shortest possible direct connection between electrofusion fittings in pre-insulated secondary cooling and industrial refrigeration circuits. Fabricated from high-integrity polyethylene PE100 in SDR11 and SDR17 wall thickness configurations across outside diameters from d32 mm to d225 mm (DN25 to DN200), this compact spool allows neighboring fittings—such as pre-insulated 90-degree elbows, 45-degree bends, tees, reducers, and valve transitions—to be joined back-to-back with zero redundant pipe run. The precision-machined spigot ends insert directly into the electrofusion zones of COOL-FIT fittings, enabling efficient electrofusion welding while minimizing overall header dimensions and structural footprint. During system assembly, the barrel nipple works in direct conjunction with the COOL-FIT 2.0 / 4.0 double-sided adhesive ring positioned between the fitting housings, creating an airtight, moisture-proof, and vapor-tight boundary that prevents atmospheric humidity ingress and condensation formation at the junction. Designed for operating media temperatures ranging between 0 degrees Celsius and +60 degrees Celsius, the smooth PE100 inner bore provides excellent fluid dynamics, low pressure drop, and complete resistance to scaling, incrustation, and galvanic corrosion throughout an extended operational lifespan. Optimized for commercial HVAC distribution, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical cooling, and data center liquid cooling infrastructure, the component provides robust dimensional stability, structural alignment, and dependable media containment within engineered polymer piping systems.
