The Georg Fischer type 562 check valve in PVC-C is a spring-loaded cone valve for reliable backflow prevention in industrial process piping. The body is moulded in post-chlorinated PVC (agate grey RAL 7038), a heat-resistant, flame-retardant thermoplastic whose chemical and thermal performance goes beyond standard PVC-U, and the valve is rated PN10. Threaded Rp sockets from 3/8" to 4" allow the valve to be fitted directly into existing threaded runs, with stainless steel reinforcing rings supporting the plastic female threads.

The closing element is a flow-optimised, double-guided cone loaded by a 1.4310 stainless steel spring. This arrangement delivers 100% leak-tight shutoff in the idle position without requiring any hydrostatic head, so the valve may be installed horizontally or vertically — including on dosing and pump discharge lines where the mounting attitude is dictated by the layout rather than by the valve. The double guidance keeps the cone centred, so operation remains free of chatter and vibration even at high flow velocities.

Sealing is by EPDM for standard industrial duty or FKM where aggressive acids and oxidising media are handled; the elastomer is chosen per order through the seal option. The installation length matches the type 546 ball valve of the same nominal size, so an isolating valve and a check valve can be combined or exchanged within the same spool without re-measuring the line.
