Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard Type 561 check valves are engineered in high-grade beta polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H) according to EN ISO 16137, delivering dependable non-return flow protection across demanding industrial fluid networks. Designed for a 25-year operational service life under industrial pressure conditions, this non-return valve prevents backflow in chemical processing, municipal and industrial water treatment, effluent handling, and power generation systems. The valve body operates safely at nominal pressure class PN10 (SDR 9) across an operating temperature range of 0 to 80 degrees Celsius, resisting aggressive acids, alkaline media, and abrasive particulate slurries where conventional metallic check valves suffer rapid degradation.

The Type 561 construction features a true double union configuration with metric socket fusion spigot ends spanning dimensions d16 to d110 mm (DN10 to DN100). This modular architecture permits rapid radial installation and servicing without disassembling adjacent piping sections. To guarantee maximum operational safety during maintenance, the union bushes incorporate left-hand internal threading, preventing accidental loosening or unscrewing of the internal mechanism when the union nut is released. Internal sealing relies on precision-moulded FKM elastomeric seals, ensuring chemical inertness against concentrated chemical solutions and sustained elasticity over extensive operating cycles.

Hydraulic performance is governed by a flow-optimized, double-guided return cone engineered to minimize pressure loss while completely eliminating flutter and mechanical vibration under high flow velocities. In vertical pipeline orientations, the weighted cone assembly achieves hermetic shut-off with a minimum closing head of only 2 metres water column, providing rapid non-slam closure to protect upstream pumps and flow instrumentation.
