The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard equal socket PN10 is an industrial-grade polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H) fitting engineered for socket fusion jointing in pressure piping systems. As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld supplies this component across Europe for chemical processing, water treatment and effluent treatment facilities. It is moulded from beta-nucleated isotactic polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H) with an MRS classification of 10 MPa and complies with EN ISO 15494. Covering metric dimensions from d16 mm to d110 mm, the socket carries a nominal pressure rating of PN10 (10 bar) at 20 degrees Celsius and is designed for a 25-year service life in water applications.

The beta-PP-H compound delivers high long-term hydrostatic strength, strong impact resistance and chemical durability against aggressive acids, alkalis and industrial effluents. Beta-nucleation refines the crystalline morphology of the polymer, giving elevated stiffness, improved resistance to environmental stress cracking and low internal abrasion from suspended solids. This structural stability prevents deformation under sustained operating pressure and repeated thermal cycles, making the PROGEF socket a dependable solution where metal systems corrode.

Jointing is executed by socket fusion in strict accordance with the DVS 2207-11 welding guidelines. The pipe spigot and the socket bore are heated simultaneously, then joined and cooled to form a homogeneous, molecularly integrated weld. The continuous weld removes leak paths without elastomeric seals or adhesives, while precise internal tolerances ensure a controlled insertion depth and accurate axial alignment of the pipe run.

The equal socket connects pipe lengths of the same diameter and integrates directly with SDR 11 PP-H pipes, ball valves, diaphragm valves and backing flanges from the PROGEF Standard range, giving piping engineers and industrial installers a certified component for pressure fluid handling.
