The Georg Fischer PVC-U threaded adaptor provides an engineered transition between metric solvent cemented pipework and male threaded equipment or metal fittings within industrial pressure systems. Manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in industrial grey RAL 7011, this fitting features a smooth solvent cement socket on one port and a parallel female thread (Rp according to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1) on the connecting port. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of 16 bar (PN16) at 20 degrees Celsius, it provides mechanical reliability in demanding chemical dosing, municipal and industrial water treatment, process cooling, and utility piping installations.

PVC-U is chemically inert against a comprehensive spectrum of inorganic acids, alkalis, oxidising agents, and saline solutions, preventing galvanic corrosion, pitting, and internal scaling often encountered in metallic pipe systems. For solvent cementing, the socket end forms a permanent, cohesive joint when paired with certified solvent adhesives such as Tangit PVC-U or Tangit DTX following thorough preparation with specialized degreasing cleaners. The internal parallel Rp thread allows clean mechanical connection to male threaded valves, instrumentation fittings, pressure gauges, and transitional hardware.

Thread assembly requires inert sealing materials such as pure PTFE tape or verified plastic-compatible thread sealants; solvent-based jointing compounds or curing pastes containing aromatic hydrocarbons must be avoided to prevent environmental stress cracking. The fitting operates continuously within a fluid temperature range of 0 to 45 degrees Celsius, maintaining structural rigidity and hydraulic integrity across the pressure envelope when de-rated according to standard thermal curves.
