The Georg Fischer Type 044 wafer pneumatic butterfly valve is engineered for automated flow control in demanding industrial piping systems. Built with a robust ASTM A395 ductile iron body, the unit resists mechanical stresses and aggressive plant environments. It features an integrated double-acting (DA) pneumatic actuator delivering fast, reliable open-close cycling via dual compressed-air ports, eliminating mechanical spring fatigue.
Fluid isolation relies on a premium fluoropolymer barrier. The stainless steel disc is fully encapsulated in perfluoroalkoxy (PFA), offering exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals, concentrated acids, and solvents. Sealing is maintained by a virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) liner backed by an elastomeric silicone cushion. This arrangement guarantees bubble-tight bidirectional shut-off under operating pressures up to 10 bar and industrial vacuum, preventing fugitive stem emissions.
Designed to EN 558 row 20 face-to-face dimensions, the wafer body installs easily between standard piping flanges. The actuator mounts via a standardized DIN EN ISO 5211 interface, ensuring rigid mechanical alignment and simplified servicing without removing the valve from the pipe run. The range covers outer diameters from D 63 mm to D 315 mm, with nominal pressure ratings of PN 4, PN 6, and PN 10 bar configured per size.
