The Georg Fischer Type 240 DA pneumatic butterfly valve is a wafer-style flow control assembly engineered for automated industrial piping carrying aggressive chemicals, water treatment media and process fluids. Its double-acting pneumatic actuator uses compressed air for both the opening and the closing stroke, producing a fast, repeatable quarter-turn movement across a 90 degrees control range without spring fatigue over long duty cycles.

The valve body is made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), a material with high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions that removes the scaling and electrochemical corrosion limiting metal valves in the same service. At a nominal rating of PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius), the assembly provides bi-directional sealing integrity, low operating torque and minimal maintenance in continuous process cycles.

Face-to-face lengths follow EN 558 (series 25 for DN50 to DN200, series 16 for DN250 and DN300) and ISO 5752, so the valve installs between industrial backing flanges drilled to ISO 7005 PN10, EN 1092-1 PN10, DIN 2501 PN10, ANSI/ASME B16.5 Class 150 or JIS B 2220. The range covers d63 mm to d315 mm, and integrated position feedback options allow the Type 240 DA to be tied into complex automation loops.
