The type 038 Lug-style metal butterfly valve is an automated industrial process valve fitted with a high-performance pneumatic fail-safe to close (FC) actuator. Engineered for critical isolation and automatic safety shut-off duties, the single-acting pneumatic actuator uses spring return force to drive the valve into a fully closed position immediately upon loss of pilot air supply or electrical control signal. This fail-safe architecture ensures reliable containment in industrial piping systems, cooling circuits, water treatment installations, and automated manufacturing lines where unattended fail-closed security is mandatory.

Constructed with a robust ductile iron GGG40 body, the assembly provides high mechanical strength, shock absorption, and long-term structural integrity under demanding pipeline stresses. Surface protection is applied according to valve diameter, featuring high-durability Rilsan coating up to DN300 and heavy-duty epoxy coating from DN350 upward to prevent external atmospheric corrosion. The internal disc is manufactured from ductile iron with a protective Rilsan coating, delivering smooth fluid dynamics, reduced flow resistance, and enhanced chemical resistance against common process media. The stem is precision-machined from grade 1.4021 stainless steel, ensuring high torsional stiffness and dependable torque transmission from the pneumatic actuator.

Designed with an installation length conforming to EN 558 row 20, the valve integrates smoothly into standardized piping layouts. The Lug-style body features threaded eyelets compatible with metric PN6 and PN10 counter-flanges, as well as ANSI 125/150 patterns across DN50 to DN300, facilitating inline installation and downstream dead-end service. Actuator adaptation complies strictly with the DIN EN ISO 5211 interface standard. The assembly is rated for working pressures up to 10 bar across sizes DN50 to DN200. Interchangeable liner options include EPDM, certified EPDM/DVGW, FKM, and NBR to match chemical compatibility, temperature resistance, and specific fluid media requirements.
