Georg Fischer Type 369 PVC-U wafer check valves deliver dependable backflow prevention for chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial fluid distribution networks. Designed as an intermediate wafer-style non-return component, the valve mounts directly between pipe flanges with integrated supporting eyelets that streamline handling and axial centering. Fluid dynamics lift the internal flap disc open during forward flow, while reverse flow immediately drives the disc back onto its resilient elastomeric seat to safeguard upstream pumps, instrumentation, and piping infrastructure. The unit is configured either in a gravity-assisted design without a spring or with an internal reset spring made of corrosion-resistant Hastelloy C or stainless steel V4A (grade 316). The spring-loaded mechanism ensures positive, prompt seating in both horizontal and vertical orientations, functioning with an opening pressure of 20 mbar in horizontal lines and 30 to 38 mbar in vertical runs, whereas the springless version opens at 1 mbar horizontally and 10 mbar vertically. Tight shut-off is secured under a minimum water column of 2 meters. Fabricated from unplasticized polyvinyl chloride with premium EPDM or FKM profile gaskets, the valve provides chemical resistance against aggressive chemicals, alkalis, and saline solutions without susceptibility to electrochemical degradation. The ultra-compact sandwich geometry optimizes face-to-face spacing and eliminates excess weight, delivering an efficient, low-maintenance backflow prevention solution for modern process systems.
