The threaded union Rp PVC-U PN16 is a demountable fitting designed for rigid industrial piping networks requiring periodic inspection, valve maintenance, or component disconnection. Featuring parallel female threads manufactured per ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1 on both ends, this union provides secure mechanical coupling to male R threaded thermoplastic or metallic fittings and instrumentation. Rated for a nominal pressure of PN 16 (16 bar) at a medium temperature of 20 degrees C, the assembly ensures robust mechanical rigidity, zero galvanic corrosion, and reliable hydraulic tightness under continuous operating conditions.

Constructed from high-grade unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in RAL 7011 grey, the component offers outstanding chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis, saline solutions, and industrial wastewater. This chemical inertia makes it ideal for chemical dosing lines, industrial water treatment facilities, cooling circuits, and commercial irrigation manifolds. The internal seal uses a resilient EPDM O-ring housed in a precision-machined groove, preventing displacement during pressure variations. The robust union nut delivers uniform axial clamping against the flat face without transmitting torsional stress to the surrounding pipework.

Installation requires tightening the union nut firmly by hand followed by controlled engagement with an appropriate strap wrench to compress the EPDM gasket. For the Rp cylindrical threads, joint sealing must be performed using PTFE tape; sealing pastes containing solvents or plasticisers harmful to PVC-U must strictly be avoided to eliminate stress corrosion risks.
