The Georg Fischer PVC-U threaded reducing nipple is an engineered thermoplastic fitting designed for industrial fluid handling networks requiring a reliable transition between two different male thread pipe diameters. Manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride in dark grey RAL 7011, this male-to-male threaded adaptor provides an essential diameter reduction in chemical processing, municipal and industrial water treatment, cooling loops, swimming pool filtration, and agricultural irrigation networks.

Engineered to operate at a nominal working pressure of 16 bar (PN16) at a reference temperature of 20 degrees C, this fitting provides superior mechanical rigidity and long-term durability. The unplasticised polyvinyl chloride compound offers outstanding resistance against aggressive chemical media, including diluted acids, alkalis, saline solutions, and various inorganic chemicals, preventing pitting, scaling, and electrolytic corrosion typically associated with metallic piping components.

Precision-machined male pipe threads conform to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1 standards, ensuring full dimensional compatibility and leak-tight engagements with standard female BSP / Rp threaded valves, equipment ports, and plastic or metallic pipe fittings. The central hexagonal body section allows for accurate torque application using standard open-ended tools, preventing localized stress concentrations during mechanical tightening. When installing, thread sealing should be carried out using appropriate PTFE sealing tape or certified thread pastes formulated specifically to be non-damaging to PVC-U polymers. Solvents and aggressive sealing compounds must be avoided to safeguard material integrity.
