The PVC-U threaded tee 90 degrees is an injection-moulded Georg Fischer fitting used to branch a fluid line at a right angle in industrial piping networks. The body is moulded from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard dark grey RAL 7011 and carries three equal female parallel threads, Rp to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, in sizes from 3/8" up to 4". The joint is fully demountable, so valves, instrumentation, strainers and transition fittings can be branched into rigid pipework without solvent cementing.

The fitting is rated PN16 (16 bar) at a reference water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, with the usual pressure de-rating applied as the medium temperature rises; the admissible working range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. PVC-U provides proven chemical resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis, salt solutions and industrial wastewater, stays free of electrochemical corrosion and is physiologically inert. The smooth moulded bore keeps friction losses low, prevents scaling and sediment build-up and holds flow rates stable over long service intervals.

Sealing must be made with materials compatible with thermoplastics, virgin PTFE tape being the reference choice. Solvent-based jointing pastes and sealing compounds containing aggressive plasticisers or aromatic hydrocarbons are to be strictly avoided, as they trigger environmental stress cracking in the moulded body.

Typical duties include industrial process cooling, municipal and commercial water treatment, chemical distribution, irrigation headers and swimming pool filtration circuits, wherever a branch has to be opened periodically for reconfiguration or maintenance access.
