The 90-degree PVC-U threaded elbow is engineered for directional changes in industrial piping systems requiring reliable mechanical connections. Manufactured by Georg Fischer and supplied by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, this fitting features precision parallel female threads (Rp conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1) on both connection ports. Rated for a nominal pressure of PN16 (16 bar at 20°C), it delivers secure, leak-tight fluid redirection across chemical processing, industrial water treatment, and process cooling networks without requiring solvent welding.

Constructed from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard industrial dark grey (RAL 7011), this component offers exceptional chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis, and saline solutions. The non-corrosive thermoplastic structure eliminates rust, scaling, and electrolytic degradation, supporting an operational service life of up to 50 years under standard conditions. Its smooth internal bore minimizes friction losses and prevents biofilm accumulation, making it suitable for both aggressive industrial media and potable water distribution.

Threaded fittings provide an efficient mechanical connection where solvent cementing is impractical due to confined spaces, rapid commissioning needs, or where components must remain demountable for maintenance. Joint sealing should be performed using compatible PTFE thread tape or approved thermoplastic sealants, avoiding petroleum-based pastes that cause environmental stress cracking. The fitting operates at full PN16 rating at 20°C, with thermal de-rating applied up to +60°C.
