Tangit ABS Solvent Cement 0.65 kg Tin
Tangit ABS Solvent Cement (0.65 kg net tin, Georg Fischer code 799 298 022) is an industrial-grade adhesive for high-integrity solvent welding of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) pressure piping. It bonds metric pipes and fittings from d20 to d315 and imperial dimensions from 3/8 inch to 8 inches, covering nominal pressure classes PN6, PN9, PN10, PN12 (Class D) and PN15 (Class E) in cooling, chilled water, water treatment, marine and drinking water installations.
The chemical fusion process dissolves the contact surfaces of the pipe spigot and the fitting socket, forming a monolithic, homogeneous joint as the solvent evaporates. Shear strength and pressure resistance of the finished connection match the parent ABS resin. Controlled thixotropic viscosity gives reliable gap-filling across the full socket depth, bridging dimensional tolerances and preventing voids, dry spots and localised stress concentrations under thermal expansion, hydraulic pressure cycling and operational vibration.
Joint preparation: clean and degrease the pipe ends and fitting sockets with Tangit cleaner before cement application. Apply the adhesive evenly in an axial direction to both bonding surfaces with an appropriate brush, assemble immediately without twisting, and hold the assembly briefly to counter socket taper push-out. After full curing, the joint withstands full working pressure, glycol solutions and typical cooling media within the operating temperature limits of ABS piping. BigWeld supplies the cement alongside the Georg Fischer ABS pipe, fitting and valve range.
