The Georg Fischer PVC-U end cap is a metric industrial fitting for the permanent or temporary termination of pressure pipe lines in process engineering, industrial water treatment and chemical distribution systems. It is built with a metric female solvent cement socket covering nominal outside diameters from d16 mm to d225 mm and is rated for continuous service up to PN16 at a reference working temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, supplies the fitting in full dimensional agreement with the standard metric PVC-U pipe series.

Moulded in high-grade unplasticised polyvinyl chloride in standard dark grey (RAL 7011), the cap combines structural rigidity and high mechanical strength with broad resistance to aggressive inorganic media, including acids, alkalis and saline solutions. The smooth internal bore and the high-precision socket geometry hold a uniform adhesive gap, so solvent cement systems such as Tangit PVC-U or Tangit DTX distribute by capillary action across the full jointing surface. The result is an irreversible, homogeneous chemical weld between cap and pipe end, with no dislocation or leakage path under dynamic pressure variation or intermittent water hammer.

Medium temperatures from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius are covered, with the standard pressure de-rating factors applied above 20 degrees Celsius. Because the body is a corrosion-free polymer, the pitting, scaling and galvanic oxidation typical of metallic terminations are eliminated, which extends maintenance intervals in harsh processing environments. Typical duties include manifold ends, dead-leg isolation, test manifolds, chemical dosing lines and industrial distribution loops where pressure integrity and chemical resistance are mandatory.
