The metric PVC-U adaptor cross PN16 is a four-way branch fitting engineered for industrial piping networks, water treatment plants, chemical distribution lines, and commercial swimming pool installations. Manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard grey RAL 7011, this fitting facilitates balanced four-way flow division and manifold intersections in rigid thermoplastic process piping. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of PN16 (16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius), the cross features metric solvent cement sockets designed for solvent cementing in accordance with metric dimensional standards, ensuring structural integrity and joint reliability without mechanical fasteners.

Manufactured by Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) and supplied across Europe by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, this PVC-U cross conforms to stringent industrial specifications. The unplasticised compound provides high chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis, saline solutions, and treated process fluids, preventing internal incrustation, electrochemical corrosion, and biological fouling. The component preserves mechanical rigidity up to 45 degrees Celsius, with standard temperature de-rating applied above 20 degrees Celsius. Its smooth interior wall suppresses hydraulic head losses and maintains laminar flow across multi-directional intersections.

Assembly is completed through cold solvent cementing using industrial PVC-U cements and cleaners, such as Tangit PVC-U or Tangit DTX for aggressive media. Proper chamfering and deburring of the connecting spigots guarantees even adhesive distribution inside the sockets, creating a homogenous chemical bond capable of absorbing continuous operational stresses and pressure fluctuations. Suitable for potable water distribution, industrial cooling circuits, irrigation manifolds, and chemical wastewater handling, this PN16 cross fitting delivers verified dimensional precision and long-term operational security for plant engineering systems.
