The Blucast JB series stainless steel band is a clamping component designed for mounting ductile iron tapping saddles, including the BK and BFL series, onto utility distribution mains. It is manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel and supplied with an EPDM internal gasket, rated PN16 (16 bar) for an operating temperature range of 0 to 70 degrees Celsius in drinking water networks.

High-grade austenitic stainless steel gives the band robust mechanical retention and long-term resistance to soil and atmospheric corrosion in both buried and exposed installations. The EPDM internal profile delivers uniform circumferential compression around the host pipe, protecting the pipe surface from mechanical abrasion while maintaining a reliable seal beneath the saddle outlet.

The range covers a broad span of pipe outer diameters through 15 distinct dimensional sizes, from DN 60-77 mm up to DN 506-535 mm, so the same band family serves ductile iron, cast iron, steel, PVC-U and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) mains when combined with the appropriate saddle body.

The elastomeric lining provides aging stability, ozone resistance and chemical compatibility with potable water. By decoupling the metallic band from direct contact with the pipe exterior, the gasket distributes bolting tension evenly along the circumference, preventing point loading, localised stress concentrations and pipe deformation during tightening. Stainless steel fastening hardware maintains torque retention and resists galling and galvanic degradation throughout the service life of the assembly.
