The Georg Fischer PVC-C metric adaptor socket creates a rigid, permanent transition between metric solvent cement pipework and parallel threaded components in industrial piping systems. One end is a plain solvent cement socket, the other a cylindrical female thread Rp; the body is moulded from post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) in Agate Grey RAL 7038 and rated PN16, 16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius. The range covers six sizes, from 20 mm - 1/2" to 63 mm - 2".

The threaded neck carries an integrated reinforcing ring in A2 stainless steel (material 1.4310). Encircling the female thread, the collar absorbs radial hoop stress and limits stress cracking when a metal or plastic male thread is tightened into the socket, as well as under vibration and repeated thermal expansion cycles. PVC-C delivers markedly higher thermal endurance than unplasticised PVC, holding pressure at fluid temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius, with high resistance to mineral acids, alkalis and salt solutions.

Dimensions and quality comply with ISO 15493 and ISO 727. Typical duty includes chemical process lines, industrial effluent and wastewater treatment, electroplating and surface finishing, semiconductor and microelectronics production, and chemical dosing skids. The cement socket is joined by standard solvent welding using approved PVC-C primer and adhesive, while the Rp thread accepts plastic or metallic male threads sealed with PTFE tape, tightened without excess torque so the fitting is assembled under low mechanical stress.
