The Georg Fischer Multi/Clamp Rp 2" tapping saddle creates a female threaded branch outlet on a rigid pipeline without interrupting the carrier pipe. The saddle body, studs and heavy-duty lugs are built entirely from passivated AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel, manufactured in a stainless-steel-only environment with automated robotic welding, so contact corrosion is excluded. The precision-cut Rp 2" internal thread accepts service lines, isolation valves and instrumentation fittings, and the assembly carries a nominal pressure rating of 16 Bar on water and gas distribution networks.

Sealing is provided by a profiled waffle-pattern elastomer gasket. The standard NBR gasket conforms to EN 682 and operates from -10 degrees to +70 degrees Celsius, while EPDM to EN 681-1 is available on request for potable water duty from -10 degrees to +55 degrees Celsius. Even tightening of the studs keeps the gasket under constant compression through thermal and mechanical cycling. The saddle is supplied in eight clamping ranges covering pipe outside diameters from 108 mm to 289 mm; as standard the lower shell half is delivered without a gasket, with a gasketed lower half available on request.

Use is restricted to rigid pipe materials — steel, ductile iron, grey cast iron and asbestos cement (AC) — aboveground as well as buried. Saddle stud models are not suitable for thermoplastic pipes. For gas service, working pressure parameters are confirmed with Georg Fischer Waga.
