The Georg Fischer Multi/Clamp Saddle Studs tapping saddle with an Rp 1 1/2" female threaded outlet is engineered for tapping and branch connection applications across municipal water distribution, industrial cooling, and gas supply pipelines. Manufactured from high-grade AISI 304 (A2) stainless steel, this saddle clamp provides high mechanical strength, structural integrity, and corrosion resistance for both aboveground and buried utility networks. The unit is produced in an isolated stainless-steel fabrication environment to eliminate galvanic contact contamination, utilizing automated robotic welding and full post-fabrication chemical passivation.

Engineered to support working pressures up to 16 bar for water applications, the clamp incorporates a precision-molded NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) sealing gasket compliant with EN 682 standards. The waffle-structure sealing matrix delivers radial sealing compression across the host pipe perimeter, accommodating surface irregularities and localized pipe ovality. The NBR gasket operates reliably within a continuous service temperature range of -10 degrees to +70 degrees Celsius, resisting degradation from hydrocarbons, treated potable water, and non-aggressive gas media.

The Multi/Clamp Saddle Studs design is suitable for rigid pipe materials including ductile iron, grey cast iron, steel, and asbestos cement. The threaded outlet is reinforced to withstand torsional installation stress when fitting service valves or branch fittings. The assembly features heavy-duty stainless steel studs and nuts with anti-galling thread treatment to facilitate consistent torque application during field installation. As standard, the lower shell half is supplied without a gasket, providing stable mechanical seating against the host pipe wall.
