The Blucast Series BK threaded tapping saddle is engineered for creating dependable, high-integrity service connections and branch outlets on ductile iron water utility pipelines. Designed to operate at a continuous nominal working pressure of PN16 (16 bar) across operating temperatures from 0 to +80 degrees Celsius, this heavy-duty fitting provides utility contractors and municipal engineers with a robust tapping solution for potable water transmission and distribution networks.

Manufactured from premium EN-GJS-500-7 ductile iron, the saddle body delivers superior mechanical strength and structural resilience against hydraulic surges and external ground loading. All cast surfaces undergo an automated electrostatic fluidised dip coating process, applying a minimum of 250 µm sky blue (RAL 5015) fusion-bonded powder epoxy. This resilient barrier delivers full dielectric insulation, preventing galvanic corrosion, pitting, and long-term chemical degradation from aggressive soil chemistries.

Fluid integrity is secured through an elastomer seal engineered in drinking-water-grade EPDM, manufactured in full accordance with EN 681 standards. The profile-moulded gasket geometry ensures precise radial compression against the outer curvature of the ductile iron pipe wall, achieving absolute zero-leak tightness without deforming the pipeline cross-section. The threaded outlet port provides clean, dimensionally stable BSP parallel internal threads for direct integration of concession valves, isolation fittings, or secondary branch lines.

Fastening hardware is designed to deliver uniform clamping torque and long-term joint stability under cyclic hydrostatic pressure.
