The Georg Fischer Type 546 Pro PVC-C ball valve is an engineered thermoplastic valve developed for demanding fluid isolation and flow control in industrial chemical processing, surface finishing, water treatment, and high-temperature utility systems. Manufactured from post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) in agate grey RAL 7038, this valve delivers exceptional mechanical rigidity and thermal endurance, operating reliably at elevated media temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius under continuous working pressure.

Designed with metric plain spigots for solvent cement jointing according to ISO standards, the Type 546 Pro is rated for nominal operating pressures up to PN16 at 20 degrees Celsius. The interior construction features a precision-machined spherical ball seated in low-friction PTFE backing rings, ensuring low operating torque and tight bidirectional shut-off. Sealing options include high-grade EPDM or FKM elastomer O-rings, accommodating aggressive mineral acids, alkalis, and industrial salt solutions.

The standard manual execution incorporates an ergonomic, lockable hand lever with integrated position locking across the DN10 to DN50 size band, preventing accidental actuation in critical process lines. For automated duty, the valve body features integrated stainless steel threaded inserts in the base, enabling rigid mounting according to DIN/ISO 5211. This modular architecture allows quick retrofitting with pneumatic or electric actuators, positioners, and optical LED feedback sensors without removing the valve body from the line.

Full dimensional backwards compatibility ensures that the z-dimensions, union nuts, and spigot valve ends match the previous generation Type 546, permitting direct drop-in replacement during plant maintenance.
