The Georg Fischer PVC-C Ball Valve 546 Pro FC is an automated industrial isolation valve engineered for handling aggressive, corrosive media in pressurized piping systems. Operated by a single-acting pneumatic PPA actuator with a fail-safe-to-close spring-return mechanism, the valve automatically shuts off fluid flow in the event of air supply failure, protecting downstream equipment and processes. The actuator housing is manufactured from rugged glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), providing exceptional external resistance against acidic and chemical atmospheres. Integrated manual override allows safe manual cycling during maintenance, commissioning, or emergency procedures without requiring specialized tools.

Constructed from high-grade chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C RAL 7038), the valve body delivers outstanding mechanical strength, flame retardancy, and chemical inertness against concentrated acids, alkalis, and salts at elevated service temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. Rated for PN10 nominal pressure, the valve assembly utilizes a precision-machined PTFE ball seat to ensure smooth rotary actuation, low operating torque, and bubble-tight shutoff. Depending on process chemical compatibility, sealing is configured with high-performance EPDM or FKM elastomeric O-rings. The unit features metric solvent cement spigots spanning d16 to d63, allowing direct solvent welding into industrial piping systems while maintaining complete modular compatibility for retrofitting with earlier Type 546 installations.

Equipped with an integrated NAMUR interface complying with VDI/VDE 3845, the PPA actuator readily accepts direct-mounted pilot solenoid valves, position transmitters, and limit switch boxes. A high-visibility optical position indicator gives clear visual feedback of the open/closed status from all operational angles.
