The Georg Fischer PVC-C Ball Valve Type 546 Pro FC is an automated industrial shut-off unit engineered for demanding flow-control duties in aggressive chemical environments. This assembly combines the Type 546 Pro valve body, molded from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C in Agate Grey RAL 7038), with a corrosion-resistant pneumatic actuator made of glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF). Configured for Fail-Safe-to-Close (FC) single-acting operation with internal spring return, the actuator automatically closes the valve upon pilot air loss, securing the pipeline against accidental leakage. It operates at a nominal control pressure of 5.6 bar and features an integrated VDI/VDE 3845 NAMUR interface for direct solenoid mounting, along with a high-visibility optical position indicator.

Internally, the valve features pure PTFE ball seats for low operating torque, minimal wear, and dependable bidirectional sealing. The assembly is equipped with metric ISO backing flanges in sizes d75, d90, and d110 mm, rated for working pressures up to PN10 at 20 degrees Celsius. Industrial PVC-C delivers excellent thermal resistance and rigidity compared to standard PVC-U, handling corrosive acids, bases, and salts at operating temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius under pressure. Integrated stainless steel inserts (grade 1.4404) at the valve base permit rigid anchoring to pipe brackets without inducing mechanical stresses into the valve body. Z-dimensions maintain full backwards compatibility with first-generation Type 546 valves.
