The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard 90 degrees transition elbow joins metric polypropylene socket fusion pipework to threaded process equipment or metallic system components. Rated PN10, it combines a metric fusion socket on one inlet (d20 to d40) with a parallel female thread to ISO 7-1 (Rp 1/2" to 1 1/4") on the opposite outlet. As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld supplies this high-integrity fitting for chemical processing lines, industrial water and wastewater treatment installations and utility piping loops where dissimilar jointing methods have to meet.

The body is moulded from isotactic polypropylene homopolymer (β-PP-H) to EN ISO 15494, giving chemical resistance against aggressive acids, alkalis and industrial effluents together with long-term hydrostatic strength designed for a 25-year operational life with water at 20 degrees Celsius.

The threaded branch carries an integrated A2 stainless steel reinforcing ring encasing the thread socket. It counteracts the radial expansion and hoop stresses induced during thread engagement, preventing stress cracking when mating with male plastic or metal threads and maintaining leak-tight sealing under sustained hydraulic pressure.

The socket fusion end is precision-machined for SDR 11 pipework and is welded with standard socket fusion heating tools, forming a homogeneous, permanent joint free of crevices and potential leak paths. The Rp cylindrical female thread requires a compatible sealant such as PTFE tape, must not be over-tightened, and keeps the connection demountable for instrumentation, valve connections or plant maintenance.
