The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard adaptor union provides a demountable, high-integrity transition between metric PP-H pipework and threaded metallic components. Rated PN10 (10 bar) at 20 degrees Celsius, it is used in water and wastewater treatment, chemical transfer lines and industrial process piping, where it connects polypropylene networks to metal valves, pumps, instrumentation and existing threaded sections without compromising structural safety.

The assembly combines an injection-moulded beta-PP-H socket fusion union bush, a precision-machined brass union end with a taper male thread R to ISO 7-1, a PP-H union nut and an EPDM O-ring. The isotactic polypropylene homopolymer compound offers high resistance to internal pressure, stress cracking and aggressive chemical media, while the brass insert provides dimensional stability and vibration resistance at the mechanical interface. The captive EPDM seal maintains leak-tight performance across fluctuating temperature and pressure regimes.

Installation uses standard socket fusion welding on the plastic side, producing a homogeneous, permanent joint with SDR 11 pipe, while the taper male thread seals mechanically against compatible female metal fittings. The union construction allows rapid disconnection for equipment servicing, valve maintenance or system modification without cutting the thermoplastic line. PROGEF Standard components comply with the requirements for pressure-bearing piping systems with long-term hydrostatic properties and are designed for a 25-year operational life with water at 20 degrees Celsius when operated within the specified parameters.
