The PP adaptor to steel pipe provides a secure push-fit transition between polypropylene interior soil and waste discharge systems and metallic drainage conduits, including steel pipe spigots and siphon connections. Engineered for domestic wastewater conveyance and internal building ventilation networks, this grey polypropylene fitting incorporates a factory-fitted elastomeric EPDM lip seal gasket designed to maintain long-term hermetic integrity against fluid leakage and foul sewer gases. Designed specifically for DN40 and DN50 nominal configurations with an internal socket insertion depth h of 25 mm and an internal diameter di of 53.7 mm, the adaptor interfaces smoothly with steel pipe spigots via tailored gasket profiles, including types 40/30A, 40/40C, 40/30B, and 40/40C. Polypropylene construction delivers high chemical resistance across an operating range of pH 2 to pH 12, resisting degradation from household detergents, appliance discharges, caustics, and acidic aqueous solutions. The component handles continuous service fluid temperatures of 60 degrees C and short-term thermal surges up to 95 degrees C, while preserving optimal shock resistance down to -15 degrees C. Featuring smooth internal hydraulics with a Manning roughness coefficient of 0.01, the fitting limits particulate sedimentation and resists abrasive wastewater wear across an expected operational lifetime of at least 50 years. The socket geometry enables rapid manual assembly into branch connections and absorbs localized thermal movement with a linear expansion coefficient of 0.12 mm/m·K.
