The Georg Fischer Type 243 PVC-C butterfly valve combines automated isolation with modulating flow control for demanding industrial process piping. Its double-acting (DA) pneumatic actuator completes the 90 degrees quarter turn in 1 to 2 seconds at a standard control air pressure of 4.2 bar, and is supplied without manual override. The actuator is housed in a corrosion-resistant glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) enclosure fitted with a high-visibility optical position indicator.

An integrated NAMUR interface to VDI/VDE 3845 accepts pilot solenoid valves, positioners and limit switch boxes directly, with no external brackets required. The lug-style body is moulded in PP-GF30 with stainless steel 316 threaded lug inserts, so the valve can be installed in line between flanges or at the end of line under full working pressure. The disc is precision moulded in post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C, Agate Grey RAL 7038) for low pressure loss and high structural rigidity, while EPDM or FKM profile liners seal the flow path and isolate the body and shaft from the process medium.

Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 and ISO 5752, so the valve mates with ISO 7005 PN10, EN 1092 PN10 and DIN 2501 PN10 metric flange patterns across sizes from d63 mm (DN50) to d315 mm (DN300). PVC-C delivers higher chemical and thermal capability than PVC-U, with working temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius, operating pressures of 5 to 10 bar and resistance to concentrated acids, aggressive alkalis, oxidising salts and chemical dosing agents. Typical duties include chemical process lines, water and wastewater treatment, electroplating and surface finishing, and microelectronics production.
