Pneumatic ABS butterfly valve type 243 DA lug PN10

Pneumatic ABS butterfly valve type 243 DA lug PN10

Material: ABS Gasket: EPDM PN: 10 Bar

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer Type 243 DA is an industrial pneumatic double-acting ABS butterfly valve designed for automated on-off and modulating flow control across plastic piping systems. Engineered with a full lug-style ABS body for secure flanged installation between backing flanges or as an end-of-line isolation valve, this automated valve assembly combines robust mechanical integrity with chemical resistance. Available for metric pipe diameters from d63 mm up to d140 mm, the valve is rated for a nominal working pressure of 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius. BigWeld supplies this high-performance valve as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor to support demanding plant environments.

Actuation is driven by a double-acting pneumatic actuator housed in a robust, completely non-corrosive glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) casing. Operating at a standard control pressure of 4.2 bar, the actuator provides swift and dependable quarterly rotation, delivering a rapid 90 degrees actuation stroke within 1 to 2 seconds. The actuator assembly conforms strictly to the VDI/VDE 3845 standard, featuring an integrated NAMUR interface that facilitates direct, standardised mounting of control accessories such as solenoid valves, positioners, and digital feedback limit switch boxes. A clear, built-in optical position indicator provides unambiguous visual confirmation of disc orientation from any operating angle.

The valve disc and body are precision-manufactured from high-grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), offering superior notch toughness, impact strength at sub-zero operating temperatures, and exceptional resistance to scale build-up. High-grade EPDM elastomers ensure bubble-tight bi-directional sealing along the disc perimeter and stem passages. Due to its entirely non-metallic wet area and exterior housing, the Type 243 DA valve is completely impervious to atmospheric corrosion, galvanic degradation, and aggressive condensation. These technical characteristics make it an optimal flow-control solution for industrial chilled water networks, air conditioning loops, secondary refrigeration, process cooling, drinking water distribution, and municipal water treatment plants.
