Fuseal caulked joint adapter S x caulked joint bead

Fuseal caulked joint adapter S x caulked joint bead

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer Fuseal caulked joint adapter provides a robust, engineered transition between Fuseal flame-retardant polypropylene corrosive waste piping and traditional caulked joint piping assemblies. Configured with a standard socket (S) on one end and a dedicated caulked joint bead on the opposing side, the adapter facilitates direct coupling with cast iron or legacy hub-and-spigot drain systems using industry-standard caulked joint mechanical couplings. Manufactured from high-grade flame-retardant polypropylene (PP), the fitting exhibits exceptional chemical resistance against harsh laboratory waste streams, aggressive solvents, alkalis, mineral acids, and salt solutions commonly encountered in industrial DWV applications, life science research centers, healthcare facilities, and academic institutions. The socket end integrates seamlessly into Fuseal drainage networks, supporting high-integrity electrofusion welding with heat-coil collars as well as mechanical Fast-Lock connections, allowing straightforward modular adaptation without requiring solvent cements or extensive rework. Thermal stability is fully optimized across demanding operating cycles, reliably handling continuous service temperatures up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit (82 degrees Celsius) and intermittent discharge surges reaching 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius). The non-metallic polypropylene construction completely eliminates the risks of galvanic corrosion, electrolysis, pitting, and scaling typical of metallic piping, maintaining maximum flow capacity throughout the operational life of the system. In addition, the heat-stabilized, UV-resistant material formulation ensures dependable structural stability in exposed above-ground installations as well as below-grade infrastructure. Engineered for specialized chemical drainage configurations, the Fuseal caulked joint adapter delivers an airtight, fluid-tight transition interface capable of withstanding gravity flow conditions and intermittent pressurized drainage up to 50 psi, ensuring reliable containment integrity across demanding process environments.
