The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus Stop-Off adapter with brass cap end, supplied with a d63 mm spigot and a 2 1/2" threaded brass cap, is a transition component engineered for safe isolation, maintenance and line-stopping work on pressurised polyethylene mains. It is produced from fully compounded virgin PE100 resin in standard SDR11 wall geometry, which gives an operating rating of PN 16 for water distribution and 10 bar for combustible gas networks.

The heavy-duty brass cap is precision machined to deliver a dependable mechanical seal, closing the branch off securely while repair or intervention work is carried out on the line. The modular build integrates with ELGEF Plus tapping saddles and electrofusion fittings, so utility teams can execute flow stoppage and branch intervention with maximum safety and minimal network downtime. The PE100 spigot end is joined to the existing pipework by electrofusion or butt fusion, keeping the assembly homogeneous with the rest of the polyethylene system.

PE100 gives the body high resistance to environmental stress cracking, soil settlement, chemical corrosion and hydraulic surges, while the metallic threaded section retains its dimensional stability and sealing force under continuous service conditions. The material is black RAL 9005, with an estimated service life of up to 100 years in utility applications according to EN 12201 for water and EN 1555 for gas.
