The Georg Fischer ecoFIT 90 degrees adaptor elbow is a PE80 socket fusion fitting developed for demanding industrial piping systems. It forms a rigid 90-degree change of direction and connects socket-fused polyethylene pipework directly to threaded metal or plastic equipment. One branch carries a calibrated fusion socket, the other an internal parallel female pipe thread (Rp). Rated PN10 (SDR11 at 20 degrees Celsius), it suits chemical process lines, industrial water treatment plants and utility distribution networks.

Threaded transitions in thermoplastic systems need added mechanical reinforcement to carry radial expansion and hoop stresses under pressure. To prevent creep, stress cracking and thread deformation, this ecoFIT elbow is supplied with a factory-fitted stainless steel (grade A2) reinforcing ring around the threaded female collar. The parallel Rp thread geometry gives uniform contact and a leak-tight joint when mated with tapered or parallel male threads, providing a durable interface to valves, instrumentation, pumps and manifold connections.

Manufactured in accordance with DIN and ISO standards, the elbow is available in nominal outside diameters from d20 mm to d40 mm, covering Rp 1/2 inch through Rp 1 1/4 inch thread sizes. The fusion side is jointed with standard PE socket fusion tooling, observing the specified heating and insertion times. To protect the polyethylene, only chemically compatible thread sealants such as PTFE tape should be used; anaerobic compounds and aggressive solvent pastes must be avoided, and the connection kept clear of excessive bending moments, severe thermal cycling and overtightening.
