The Georg Fischer ecoFIT PE80 adaptor union provides a demountable, high-integrity mechanical transition between metric polyethylene distribution lines and threaded metal system components. The plastic side carries a metric socket fusion spigot that joins PE80 pipework homogeneously using standard socket fusion tooling, while the parallel female thread (Rp) is machined from high-grade dezincification-resistant brass, allowing connection to metallic instrumentation, valves, pumps or distribution manifolds without creating a permanent, non-serviceable joint.

The assembly comprises a PE80 fusion end, a brass union nut, a dezincification-resistant brass threaded union bush and an elastomeric NBR O-ring of approximately 65 degrees Shore nominal hardness. The precision-machined union seating geometry lets the O-ring seal positively under moderate nut tightening torque, isolating the media from external contamination and preventing leakage under thermal cycling and mechanical vibration. Dezincification-resistant brass retains its metallurgical stability in industrial water circuits, utility distribution and process applications where standard brass alloys risk selective leaching over long service lives.

Manufactured and tested in compliance with the applicable DIN standards for polyethylene pressure fittings, the ecoFIT PE80 threaded adaptor union is rated for a continuous working pressure of PN10 bar (SDR 17) at a reference water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. The range covers metric socket fusion diameters from d20 mm to d63 mm, matched with parallel female threads from Rp 1/2 inch to Rp 2 inches, with external fitting diameters (Do) from 46 mm to 104 mm and installed assembly lengths (Lmax) between 46 mm and 65 mm. The three-piece union architecture allows rapid dismantling for routine line maintenance, pump servicing or instrument replacement without cutting the PE pipework.
