The Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) ecoFIT 90 degrees elbow in PE80 is an injection-moulded thermoplastic fitting for directional changes in pressurised industrial piping networks. Built for metric socket fusion jointing, it provides leak-tight routing in water treatment installations, chemical process lines and industrial utility infrastructure. The PE80 body delivers ductile behaviour under pressure cycling and long-term hydrostatic strength rated at PN10 (SDR 17).

Socket fusion produces a homogeneous, molecular-level joint between the elbow and the corresponding PE pipe or spigot fitting. During the thermal cycle the outer surface of the pipe end and the inner bore of the fitting socket are heated simultaneously to plasticising temperature with calibrated heating tools, then assembled coaxially. On cooling, the coalesced material solidifies into a monolithic unit whose tensile and pressure ratings match the adjacent pipe wall, removing elastomer seals and mechanical stress concentrations from the connection.

The elbow is available in outside diameters from d20 to d110 (DN15 to DN100), covering a wide spectrum of industrial fluid transport duties. PE80 resists aqueous acids, alkalis, inorganic salts and diverse process effluents, keeping the bore scale-free and hydraulic friction losses low over decades of service. Impact resistance and ductility are retained at low service temperatures, preventing brittle failure under thermal contraction or the mechanical vibration typical of plant environments.
