The Georg Fischer Type 546 Pro DA is an automated ball valve combining an Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) valve body with a double-acting (DA) pneumatic actuator. Engineered for automated process control in industrial water treatment, chilled water distribution, and cooling circuits, this actuated unit provides dependable shut-off and throttling. The double-acting actuator uses compressed air for both opening and closing cycles, housed in a glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) casing that resists aggressive atmospheres.

The actuator incorporates an integrated VDI/VDE 3845 NAMUR interface for direct mounting of control accessories, including limit switch boxes, solenoid valves, and positioners. A high-visibility optical indicator delivers continuous status of the ball position. For commissioning, testing, and maintenance, an integrated manual override allows plant technicians to operate the valve smoothly without disconnecting pneumatic supply lines.

The internal assembly features low-friction PTFE ball seats and high-grade EPDM or FKM seals, ensuring bubble-tight sealing and consistent operating torque. Rated for PN10 nominal pressure (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius), the valve covers metric diameters d16 to d63 (DN10 to DN50). The metric solvent cement sockets conform to ISO standards for reliable jointing with ABS pipe systems. Integrated stainless steel threaded inserts in the base allow rigid bracket fixation, relieving pipe runs from operating loads.

Designed on the modular GF platform, the Type 546 Pro DA ensures full dimensional backwards compatibility with first-generation Type 546 valves.
