The Type 546 ball valve in PVC-U with solvent cement sockets is a true union shut-off and flow control valve for chemical processing, industrial utilities and water treatment piping. The dark grey unplasticised polyvinyl chloride body (RAL 7011) is rated PN16, 16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius, and covers a medium temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, with pressure de-rating above the 20 degrees Celsius reference. PVC-U delivers high chemical resistance to diluted and concentrated acids, alkalis, bases and saline solutions, assessed according to ISO/TR 10358, which makes the valve suitable for process lines, dosing skids and water treatment distribution headers.

Metric solvent cement sockets to DIN ISO cover diameter 16 mm to 110 mm (DN10 to DN100) and produce a homogeneous, permanently jointed connection to the pipe run. The true union construction keeps both union nuts accessible, so the valve can be installed radially between fixed spools, serviced inline and exchanged without cutting or dismantling the adjacent pipework.

Internally, the ball runs on low-friction PTFE seats with EPDM or FPM (fluoroelastomer) backing seals, keeping operating torque low and reproducible over the whole service life; the seal material is selected per variant according to the medium. The lockable hand lever carries an integrated position indicator for immediate confirmation of the open or closed state, while threaded metal inserts in the housing allow direct mounting onto brackets or later conversion to electric or pneumatic actuation.
