The Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) PVC-C brass adaptor union with R male thread is an industrial transition fitting that creates a secure, demountable joint between metric PVC-C solvent cement piping and metallic female-threaded equipment. Rated PN16 (16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius), the three-piece assembly combines a metric PVC-C solvent cement socket bush, a PVC-C union nut, a precision-machined brass adaptor end with an external taper R pipe thread, and a profile EPDM gasket. Produced in agate grey RAL 7038, the chlorinated polyvinyl chloride components retain mechanical rigidity and pressure capability at operating temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius, beyond the limits of unplasticised PVC. The post-chlorinated molecular structure gives high chemical resistance to aggressive mineral acids, alkalis, salts and corrosive media typical of chemical processing, electroplating, water treatment and demineralised water distribution.

The brass (CuZn) union end is turned to provide the shear strength and thread stability required when coupling to pumps, heat exchangers, valves or metallic manifold headers, while the EPDM seal maintains radial sealing under continuous thermal cycling and pipeline vibration.

Jointing follows standard solvent cementing practice for metric industrial thermoplastic systems. Sizes run from d20 mm to d63 mm, with matching male R threads from 1/2 inch to 2 inches. The taper thread is sealed with PTFE tape or an anaerobic thread sealant approved for brass, without over-tightening against the plastic bush. The demountable architecture lets equipment be isolated, exchanged or inspected without cutting pipe sections. Dimensionally, the fitting integrates with the metric GF PVC-C range of pipes, bends, elbows and tees built to DIN 8079 / DIN 8080, ISO 727 and ISO 15493, and is routinely specified in chemical process lines, wastewater treatment, microelectronics and marine installations.
