The Georg Fischer Type 543 three-way ball valve in PVC-U combines a horizontal L-port ball with solvent cement sockets for metric pipe, providing a compact element for diverting, distributing and switching liquid media in industrial process lines, water treatment plants and chemical dosing systems. Turning the lever through 90 degrees redirects the flow between adjacent branches with minimal pressure loss, while the true union construction allows the valve to be installed or removed radially during scheduled maintenance without disturbing the surrounding pipework.

The body is made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in dark grey RAL 7011, a material with high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions. Nominal operating pressure is 16 bar (PN16) at 20 degrees Celsius, with a working temperature range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Internal sealing relies on durable, low-friction PTFE ball seats working against elastomeric O-rings supplied in either EPDM or FPM, so the sealing package can be matched to the chemistry of the medium. Metric diameters run from 16 mm up to 63 mm, with leak tightness maintained under continuous cyclic switching.

Threaded inserts moulded into the base of the body allow the valve to be bracketed directly onto a frame or panel, keeping reaction loads off the pipe run in automated plants. The ergonomic manual lever gives a clear visual indication of the active flow path, preventing mis-switching in operation, and the same interface accepts pneumatic or electric actuators without any modification of the body. Solvent cemented joints made with PVC-U adhesives are homogeneous and leak-tight, which makes the Type 543 a dependable choice for industrial piping, water treatment facilities, chemical distribution lines and commercial pool systems.
