The threaded central offtake tee Rp is a 90 degrees branch fitting from the Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) PVC-U industrial range: two solvent cement sockets on the run and a parallel female thread Rp on the central outlet. It is rated PN16 at 20 degrees and is offered in ten sizes, from d16 mm - 3/8" up to d110 mm - 4", so a demountable threaded take-off can be opened anywhere along a solvent-cemented PVC-U line without changing the system material.

The body is moulded from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride in the standard industrial dark grey RAL 7011, the same compound used for the metric pipes and fittings of the range, so the branch keeps the chemical and mechanical behaviour of the main line. The Rp thread follows ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 and is reinforced with a stainless steel (A2) ring, which allows metal counterparts such as brass or stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) transition nipples, manometer adaptors or hose connectors to be made up without over-stressing the plastic.

PVC-U offers high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions, which suits the fitting to industrial process lines, water treatment, dosing skids, irrigation networks, pool technology and drainage. The central outlet is typically used for a pressure gauge, a sampling or drain point, a dosing injection or an instrument connection. Uninhibited oxidising acids must be verified against the chemical resistance data, and the nominal pressure refers to 20 degrees, with de-rating at elevated temperatures.

The socket ends are jointed with Tangit PVC-U, Tangit PVC-U Plus (THF and CH free) or Tangit DTX for aggressive media, after chamfering the pipe end and cleaning with Tangit KS. Thread pastes that attack PVC-U must be strictly avoided on the Rp outlet, and KLIP-IT pipe clips keep the threaded branch free of bending loads.
