Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard Type 586 pressure retaining valves provide high-precision upstream pressure control and overpressure relief across demanding industrial chemical distribution and high-purity water conveyance systems. Manufactured from unpigmented polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), the valve maintains consistent line pressure by opening automatically when upstream process pressure exceeds the calibrated setpoint, thereby protecting pumps, piping, and sensitive downstream instrumentation from hydraulic surges. The assembly is equipped with a high-performance PTFE/EPDM diaphragm that ensures total, hermetic media isolation from internal mechanical components, combined with chemical-resistant FKM secondary O-ring seals. Designed with integrated stainless steel threaded mounting inserts and a true union configuration featuring SDR21 butt fusion metric spigots (d20 to d63 mm, DN15 to DN50), Type 586 facilitates seamless integration with infrared (IR Plus), bead and crevice free (BCF Plus), or conventional butt welding methods, enabling straightforward radial installation and rapid maintenance without dismantling adjacent pipework. The valve operates reliably across a pressure class rating of PN10 (up to 10 bar) and features an adjustable pressure setting range of 0.5 to 9.0 bar (7 to 130 psi), with an optional 0.3 to 3.0 bar (4 to 44 psi) low-pressure range available upon request. Resistant to aggressive acids, solvents, and elevated operating temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius up to 140 degrees Celsius, the SYGEF Standard Type 586 pressure retaining valve delivers long-term process safety and consistent flow regulation.
