The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard end cap SDR17.6 PN6 is a spigot fitting for the permanent, leak-tight closure of polypropylene pipe ends in demanding industrial piping systems. It is produced from beta-nucleated polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H) with a Minimum Required Strength of 10 MPa, giving long-term hydrostatic performance and dimensional stability under continuous chemical and thermal load. Built to EN ISO 15494, the cap uses an SDR17.6 geometry rated at 6 bar nominal pressure (PN6) with water at 20 degrees Celsius over a 25-year design life.

Engineered for butt fusion according to DVS 2207, the fitting is also fully compatible with contactless infrared (IR Plus) fusion. Automated, repeatable welding parameters produce uniform melt beads and consistent joint integrity without mechanical bead stress. The smooth, non-porous inner and outer thermoplastic surfaces resist incrustation, scaling and biofouling, preserving hydraulic performance throughout service.

Beta-PP-H resists inorganic acids, caustic alkalis, process effluents and industrial salts, so the end cap is specified across chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, effluent handling and utility distribution networks. Available in nominal diameters from 50 mm to 225 mm.
