The Georg Fischer malleable cast iron side outlet elbow 221 (ISO/EN Za1) provides a robust three-way corner junction engineered to connect three mutually perpendicular pipe runs of identical nominal diameter at a single 90-degree intersection. Manufactured from high-grade decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5 in strict accordance with EN 10242 and ISO 49 under Design Symbol A, this monolithic fitting combines the tensile strength and ductility of steel with the superior castability, compression resistance, and vibration-damping characteristics of cast iron. Each of the three outlets is engineered with precision-machined Rp parallel internal jointing threads conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, creating a permanently tight seal on the interlocking thread profile through metal-to-metal contact when assembled with taper R external pipe threads and an approved jointing medium. Engineered for mechanical engineering, heating installations, non-corrosive gas piping, compressed air lines, and industrial cooling systems, the fitting exhibits an allowable operating pressure rating of 25 bar across continuous operating temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius, with thermally interpolated operating capabilities maintaining up to 20 bar at 300 degrees Celsius. Available across nominal connection sizes from 3/8 inch to 2 inch with precise axis-to-face measurements and standardized z-dimensions for streamlined piping prefabrication, the elbow is manufactured either in a black finish coated with a rust-preventative film or with an advanced hot-dip galvanised pure zinc protective layer exceeding 70 micrometres that ensures full compliance for potable water distribution and prevents corrosion over extended operational lifecycles.
