This Georg Fischer PVC-U plain and threaded adaptor socket provides a rigid, reliable transition between solvent-welded metric pipework and threaded industrial components. Manufactured from high-grade unplasticised polyvinylchloride, this PN16 fitting integrates an internal solvent cement socket at one end and an Rp parallel female thread conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1 at the opposing end. Engineered for demanding industrial piping systems, water treatment installations, chemical processing lines, and commercial distribution networks, it establishes an airtight, leak-free connection across operating pressures up to 16 bar at a reference temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

The unplasticised polyvinyl chloride compound provides outstanding mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and long-term chemical resistance against aqueous solutions, inorganic acids, alkalis, and saline media. The robust thick-wall construction absorbs structural pipe stresses and minor system vibrations without micro-cracking or thread distortion. The internal parallel female thread profile Rp facilitates seamless mechanical mating with metal or plastic male threaded nipples and instrumentation spigots, eliminating the risk of galvanic corrosion common in mixed-metal systems. For installations subject to elevated thermal conditions, appropriate operating pressure de-rating factors must be applied above 20 degrees Celsius up to the maximum permissible medium limit of 60 degrees Celsius.

Jointing the solvent cement socket requires standard pipe preparation, including square cutting, chamfering, and thorough degreasing with an approved solvent cleaner prior to applying compatible adhesive cements such as Tangit or Weld-On. When securing the Rp female threaded connection, use non-hardening PTFE tape; paste sealants containing aggressive plasticisers or solvent carriers harmful to PVC-U must be strictly avoided to prevent environmental stress cracking.
