The Georg Fischer MSA 4.0 is a high-performance electrofusion unit engineered for utility and industrial piping installations. Utilizing advanced inverter technology, the unit provides precise voltage-controlled jointing across an output range of 8 to 48 V with a maximum fusion current of 110 A. Designed for jointing polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) electrofusion fittings from d16 up to d1400 mm, it operates on a standard 230 V supply (190 V to 265 V tolerance, 50 to 60 Hz) and is fully compatible with on-site generators rated at 3.5 kVA.

Compliant with ISO 12176-4 standards, the MSA 4.0 delivers comprehensive joint documentation for gas and water distribution networks. An integrated GPS receiver automatically logs geographic coordinates for each weld, capturing precise site locations alongside operator badge IDs, job codes, and fitting parameters. Data input is handled by a long-range barcode scanner reading 1D and 2D QR codes, supported by manual entry. Internal memory stores up to 5,000 protocols, exported in PDF or BIN formats via the Type-A USB port. Built-in Bluetooth facilitates remote monitoring and wireless data transfer via smartphone.

Constructed with a rugged die-cast aluminium enclosure rated to IP65, the machine withstands severe site conditions across an operating temperature range of -20 degrees Celsius to +50 degrees Celsius. An internal cooling system ensures efficient heat dissipation for consecutive fusions, while automatic energy compensation adjusts output relative to ambient temperature. The graphical LCD with adjustable contrast provides support across 27 languages and displays joint cooling times.

The MSA 4.0 includes programmable rental period management with automated lockout. The scope of delivery comprises the electrofusion unit, a heavy-duty transport case, a 4 m mains cable, a 4 m fusion cable, 4.0 mm and 4.7 mm angle adapters, an operator START/STOP badge, a configuration chart, and a USB flash drive with PC software.
