The ELGEF Plus 90 degrees electrofusion elbow is a PE100 fitting used for directional changes in buried and exposed polyethylene mains. It is produced in SDR 11 across the full d20 to d250 mm range and rated 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas, so a single component serves distribution, irrigation and industrial process networks without reducing the pressure class of the line.

Jointing is by electrofusion through 4 mm pin connectors, with limited path fusion indicators that give a visual confirmation of the completed weld. Sizes d20 to d63 include integral pipe fixation, which keeps the pipe ends concentric during heating and cooling without a separate alignment clamp, while d200 to d250 are built with two separate fusion zones, each socket being welded individually with its own parameters. Traceability data is carried on every fitting through the Track & Trace system.

The body is moulded from 100% virgin PE100 in black RAL 9005, based on resin approved by the PE100+ Association, with a density of about 0.95 g/cm³, a yield stress of 25 N/mm² and a tensile modulus of 900 N/mm² at 23 degrees Celsius. The material is corrosion-free and offers high resistance to chemicals, abrasion, ultraviolet exposure and water hammer, works reliably from -50 to +60 degrees Celsius and delivers a product lifetime exceeding 25 years. Low weight and the absence of protective coatings keep handling, installation and maintenance effort low on site.

Typical applications include drinking water and gas distribution, utility pipework, irrigation headers, cooling and process circuits and chemical transport. Dimensions follow EN 12201 for water and EN 1555 for gas, and the ELGEF Plus system holds approvals such as ACS, DVGW, KIWA, KTW/W270 and SVGW.
