The Georg Fischer Fig. 90 malleable cast iron equal 90 degrees elbow is an engineered threaded fitting designed for dependable right-angle directional changes in utility, industrial process, and building infrastructure pipe networks. Fabricated from high-grade whiteheart decarburised annealed malleable cast iron conforming to material designation EN-GJMW-400-5 and European Design Symbol A, the fitting provides high mechanical strength, structural homogeneity, and exceptional resistance to internal working pressure and cyclic thermal stresses. Premium hot-dip galvanising applied with high-purity molten zinc creates an adherent alloyed barrier layer exceeding standard coating specifications, delivering durable corrosion protection suitable for treated potable water distribution, industrial cooling, natural gas, non-corrosive fuels, and compressed air circuits. Both connection ports are machined with identical parallel internal threads designated Rp in accordance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, establishing tight metallic compression and reliable sealing on the thread when engaged with taper external pipe threads. Built strictly in compliance with ISO 49 and EN 10242 design symbol A1 across the 1/8 inch to 4 inch nominal range, each unit features factory-calibrated z-dimensions and uniform face-to-axis spacing to streamline pre-assembly calculations, rapid job-site installation, and exact centre-to-centre pipeline alignment without cumulative fitting tolerances. The robust casting reliably sustains maximum permissible operating pressures up to 25 bar at fluid temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius, as well as 20 bar at elevated temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius, ensuring total operational safety across industrial heating networks, gas lines, and certified fire protection systems.
