Malleable iron 90° reducing elbow male thread

Malleable iron 90° reducing elbow male thread

Material: Malleable iron

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer Fig 92 malleable iron 90 degrees reducing elbow provides a compact, heavy-duty directional transition for threaded industrial piping systems requiring a simultaneous right-angle turn and bore reduction. Engineered in strict compliance with EN 10242 and ISO 49 under Design Symbol A, this high-integrity fitting is manufactured from premium decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5, ensuring exceptional structural density, mechanical ductility, and long-term crack resistance under heavy vibrational and mechanical stresses. The component incorporates a female parallel jointing thread (Rp) on the primary run end and a reduced male taper jointing thread (R) on the 90 degrees outlet, both precision-machined in accordance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1 standards. Pressure-tight sealing is achieved directly on the threads through controlled metallic contact along the 1:16 taper-to-parallel geometry, which uniformly compresses sealing agents across the entire engagement depth. Operating reliably across demanding thermal envelopes, the fitting delivers a maximum permissible working pressure of 25 bar within a service temperature range of -20 degrees to 120 degrees Celsius, maintaining a robust 20 bar rating at elevated operational temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. Available in either a protective black finish or a high-purity hot-dip galvanised coating suitable for potable water distribution, it resists hydrocarbon contamination and surface corrosion in hot and cold water installations, commercial gas loops, closed heating and cooling circuits, compressed air lines, and chemical utility networks. The standardised axial geometry ensures predictable z-dimension planning for accurate prefabrication, while the streamlined internal waterway minimizes localized turbulence and fluid pressure drop across high-velocity flow changes.
